Connecting Youth: Sharing Knowledge to End Child Sexual Violence
Many children in Nepal continue to face the risk of child sexual violence. Although organizations are working to prevent child sexual violence, young people often do not know how child sexual violence is addressed in Nepal. Moreover, they are totally unaware about the situation in neighboring countries, particularly in SAARC countries. They do not get opportunities to learn about the legal systems, community responses, or youth perspectives on this issue.
Hence, the main goal of this project is to build cross-country connection and shared learning among youth in Nepal and Pakistan. Janaki women awareness society (JWAS) in Nepal and Right Information at Right Time in Pakistan will implement project activities in their respective countries. Through a jointly designed documentation and dialogue process, the project will create space for young people and practitioners to learn from each other’s experiences, legal systems, and prevention approaches.
Ending Child Sexual Violence is the current priority of Janaki Women Awareness Society as well as different governments. We have been continuously working in this sector, particularly on advocacy, awareness, and empowerment.
